My TV screen "binks" when I play Xbox 360?
Hey, I have a 1081p Sharp LCD in my room, and each time I play an Xbox 360 game on it, the screen goes blank every 2 minutes or so... I tried using another 360 with different HDMI cables, but the trouble still happens. I additionally unplugged my television from an extension chord and plugged it absolutely to the wall, but the TV screen still goes blank when I play. This only occurs when I'm playing a game or watching a movie on my Xbox, not when I'm on the dashboard, nor when I'm watching television. Do any of you know what can be the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

One of the anti-piracy decisions that that HDMI cables use is called HDCP. HDCP is used to ensure an adequate "handshake" among the device (the 360) and the display (the TV).

If an adequate handshake can't be established multiple devices - this includes, to the absolute of my know-how, the 360 - the console will cause the display to blink. This blinking would prevent you recording the feed from the cable but in your circumstance it's just provoking an annoyance. As there is no copyrighted content being shown on the dashboard there is no factor for the 360 to resolve an HDCP connection and as such it would have no problem display those menus.

It would be worth trying your Xbox on a different display; try connecting it to another TV or a monitor. It sounds as even though your TV is having problem with the HDCP handshake.

This might not be accurate but it does sound like the trouble you are having.
